Head Coach
Karin joined the faculty in 1984, and for a decade coached girls varsity soccer, ran the boys’ and girls’squash program and has coached boys’ varsity tennis for decades. She also coached the girls’ ice hockey team for several years. The boys’ and girls’s tennis teams have a long tradition of winning, have captured innumerable championships, have included singles and doubles R.I. and New England champions, and Karin is excited to work with this talented girls’ tennis team this fall and the boys’ in the spring.
Karin was first introduced to competitive tennis on Moses Brown’s 9 clay courts when she was 12 and spent many summer days there while also competing in NELTA (now USTA New England) tournaments as a top-ranked N.E. singles and doubles player.
When the school returned to co-education, Karin came to Moses Brown as a student from Torrey Pines High School in Del Mar, CA and played on the girls’ soccer, girls basketball, boys’ tennis and girls’ lacrosse teams. She went on to captain and play four years of ice hockey, two years of soccer and competed on the varsity co-ed sailing team for four years at Brown University. Karin has been active in the USTA, including having been tournament director for the USTA N.E. Junior Boys’ and Girls’ Championships and other tournaments, and has served on USTA RI committees.
Karin knows the community well, having taught World Languages and served as dean of students for many years and is currently senior alumni engagement officer, working closely with the Alumni Association, and presently teaches 7th grade French.
