Honors French Students Shine in National Competition

Moses Brown Honors French students have demonstrated exceptional linguistic prowess, with several earning top honors in the prestigious Le Grand Concours, a national French competition. The annual event challenges students in grades 1-12 across all 50 states and abroad with a comprehensive written examination, pitting them against peers at similar levels.

This year's competition saw remarkable success from students under the guidance of French teacher Adele Saint Pierre. Three students, Serafina H., Alaina Z., and Josselyn W., achieved gold medals, a testament to their dedication and mastery of the French language. Claire R. earned a silver medal. In addition to these top accolades, a dozen other students received honorable mentions, recognizing their strong performances.

"Like with any competition, what matters is the effort we put in and the things we learn from the experience," said Adele. "I am proud of all of my students for the time and commitment they put into practicing for and taking the exam, and hope that they are as well."

Le Grand Concours is organized by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) and aims to promote the study of French and reward student achievement. The competition provides a valuable opportunity for students to gauge their progress, challenge themselves, and celebrate their passion for the French language and culture.
